Breastfeeding can come with difficulties and make young mothers even more vulnerable:
- Late milk coming in, which did not have time to occur at the maternity hospital
- Baby weight loss/jaundice that required the introduction of Expressed Breast Milk or Artificial Milk supplements, and you are unsure how to proceed today
- Painful latching at the breast and/or during the entire feeding (irritations, cracks)
- Use of nipple shields or lactation assistance devices (breast/finger DAL) that you would like to stop using
- Decrease in milk production or the beginning of engorgement
- Imminent return to work and the need to modify current habits or prepare for weaning
Main objectives of this consultation:
- Regain pleasure and confidence in breastfeeding
- Review the situation, difficulties & feeding rhythm
- Observe and evaluate the effectiveness of a feeding
- Review positioning to ensure optimal comfort and relieve potential pain
- Discuss the breastfeeding project and how to continue it (exclusive? mixed? weaning?)
Charline is a breastfeeding facilitator who supports breastfeeding mothers in their first steps towards breastfeeding, both during their stay at the maternity hospital (pediatric nurse in several Parisian maternity hospitals committed to supporting breastfeeding projects, including a Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative hospital) and upon their return home through these consultations.
She has also personally experienced a painful breastfeeding start (cracks, engorgement, DAL & nipple shields, etc.) which ultimately transformed into a happy breastfeeding journey that lasted 15 months.
Her professional and personal breastfeeding experience makes her a committed and empathetic support, who does everything to help you achieve your breastfeeding project.
